Future plans and ideas
Assorted issues and ideas for future development. More than anywhere else, here is where I'll appreciate all your suggestions and ideas so This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it :
- Override Escape key in MythTV “Watch TV” module (mythtv) so that it does not trigger application close.
- Find better file manager than Krusader for components that are using it.
- Experiment with XMMS2 as music player in combination with better file manager than Krusader.
- Support for DVD playback - surprisingly, I don't miss this functionality much, because of all the superiorities of DivX :)
- Component for playing computer games.
- Radio component - I'm using standalone radio receiver, but HTPC implementation would provide additional functionalities.
- Surveillance capabilities - use that webcam while not videoconferencing. Motion detection is also an option, so it is quite possible to make full home-protection service inside HTPC.
- Some kind of on-demand instructions on key accociations in different components - as component numbers grows, it becomes more and more difficult to remember what key on your remote has what function, especially inside components that are not used often.
- Log rotate ~tv/.xsession-errors file :)
- Add component that would visually implement "switch-mode-ask" script: graphically display each component in mosaic live preview (even for overlay windows) and allow user to navigate with arrow keys through those thumbnail previews.
